I remember when I was around 13 years old, my dad used to tell me about why I needed to care and support my community.  He said, “if you don’t care about your community, don’t worry, their will be many others that do, and most will come with good intentions, but not all.  Will you be okay with them speaking on your behalf and representing you in ways you may not feel as authentic and appropriate? Will you be okay that they don’t live your experiences, share the same values or truly don’t understand the needs of your community?”  These words left a mark, and it’s because of this that we want to help. - Ekk
